$11,521.99

There is a check for $4,897.38 from timbering to be deposited.

4.LAND PROTECTION No new information.

5.FOREST MANAGEMENT A. Stewart Heath will begin the gravel work on Willis Bean Rd. this week.

B.Paul attempted, unsuccessfully, to contact the forester and has written him a letter with ECC expectations that he shared.

6.FOSS MOUNTAIN A. Blueberry Fields. Ryan Bushnell, one of the organic blueberry growers on Foss attended the meeting and there was extensive discussion about the blueberry fields. Ryan picked 2,380 pints this summer on the south field. With the Town’s credit for mowing he felt he did not owe the ECC any money. A big issue is the encroachment of brush, especially around the field perimeters, and grass in and around the fields that it is labor-intensive to control. Sulfur can be a treatment for this but costs $700 per acre. Burning to renew the blueberry crop does not kill the grass. A prescribed burn involves trained people and two permits (state and town.)

B. Marnie brought the panoramic photo of the view from the top of Foss. It includes identification of mountains and points of interest.

7.OTHER Erosion control work being is being done at the property across from the Store.

Next meeting: December 14, 2009 at 7:00 PM.

Meeting adjourned at 8:50 PM.

Respectfully submitted by Judy Fowler, secretary.
