DRAFT Eaton Conservation Commission May 11, 2009 1. Meeting called to order by Paul Savchick at 7:05 PM. Present were Paul Savchick, Rick young, Dick Brisbois, Judy fowler, Marnie Cobbs and Dick Fortin. 2. ADMINISTRATION Minutes of the 4/13/09 meeting were unanimously approved. 3. TREASURER’S REPORT Dick Brisbois reported: A. Eaton Conservation Fund $ 7,623.29 Forest Management Fund 13,460.82 $ 21,084.11 B. It was unanimously agreed to pay out the Tin Mountain Conservation Center camp scholarships at 60%. C. Dan Stepanauskas, Town forester, has requested $375 to touch up water bars and seed the landing and skid trails at the Peddlar’s End logging site. It was decided to hold off on this until ECC members have looked over the areas in question. D. Re: repair of Willis Bean Rd. near the Koch residence, Rick is trying to get in touch with Mr. Koch prior to the work being done. 4. CRYSTAL LAKE Dick B. got the plans from the Loon Center for building an artificial loon nest on the lake. He will build it with Dick F’s wood and Loon Center staff will put it in around June 1st. It will be removed at the end of the season and stored for the winter. 5. LAND PROTECTION Re: the Foss Mt. land of Ethel McKenzie, Marnie sent information to the appraiser who will look over the property within the next few weeks. Two appraisals will be conducted: one for the whole 99 acres and for that parcel minus a small piece. The appraised is charging $1500 for the appraisal and meeting with the ECC. 6. NATURAL RESOURCE INVENTORY (NRI.) The Upper Saco Valley Land Trust may want to conduct a NRI in Eaton to identify land parcels of value in their land preservation/conservation work. Paul will contact Larry Garland of AMC who would oversee this work. 7. EATON MASTER PLAN Paul requested a list of goals and objectives for each section done by an ECC member that will follow each person’s narrative. They are to be brought to the next meeting. 8.DREDGE AND FILL Wetlands application from NH Fish and Game Commission as part of an application for a hand-carried boat access on Rt. 153 at the north end of Purity Lake. Dick Fortin will peruse it for details. 9.OTHER BUSINESS A.Monthly Task List. Judy will go through the last year’s minutes, revise the list and send it to ECC members for input.
