EATON CONSERVATION
COMISSION
January 9, 2006
1. Meeting was called to
order by Dick Fortin at 7:00 PM. Present were Dick Fortin, Rick
Young, Paul Savchick, Judy Fowler, Dick Brisbois, Beth Griffin, David
Condoulis and Kristy Foster.
2. ADMINISTRATION
Minutes of the 12/12/06 meeting were accepted with the following .
amendments: section #2 date changed to 11/14/05 and to read
that minutes were ?accepted with amendments?; section #5 to read
?the silt fence will not be adequate for spring flooding and
runoff?, section # 6 last sentence to read ?for the Town to look
at options for conservation easements.?
3.
TREASURER?S REPORT Dick Brisbois reported:

The charge for the
bridge surveyor was paid out.
4. DREDGE AND FILL A
culvert collapsed on property of Shirley Blue during a deluge of rain
the first week of 1/06 necessitating emergency repair. Since there
was no time to file a prior application for repair, a ?Notification
of Routine Roadway and Railway Procedures,? for use in emergency
situation, was filed and shared at this meeting.
5.
FOSS MOUNTAIN The N.H. Fish and Game Dept. has notified that they
will reimburse the ECC $1050.00 as a cost share for the cutting
already done on Foss Mt. They are holding the rest of the grant back
for reimbursement for future cutting.
6.
FOREST MANAGEMENT Paul reported that the bridge on Willis Bean Rd.
to the east has washed out about 8 feet more on one side. Since this
definitely necessitates a 40foot bridge span, there must be a 30 day
application (rather than 10 day.) The washed out bank will have to be
stabilized.
7.
HENNEY FUND There will be a presentation by Mark Govoni, manager
for Bank of America which administers the Henney Trust, at the Conway
Library 1/10/06. Dick Brisbois and Judy will attend.
NH ASSOCIATION OF
CONSERVATION COMMISSIONS It was unanimously voted to pay 2006
annual dues of $150.00.
9.
DES WORKSHOPS A. Dick Fortin shared information re: workshops to
be presented 1/19, 2/10 and 3/22/06 in Concord.
B.
There is a booklet, put out by DES, re: plants for shoreland areas.
Paul has some copies.
10. SHORELAND ORDINANCE
The rest of the meeting was spent on revisions of the ordinance. The
first of two required hearings was held on the ordinance 12/21/05
with some questions raised. The second hearing will be held 1/18/06.
Paul will e-mail the approximate time.
The
next meeting will be held 2/13/06 at 7:00 PM
