Eaton Conservation Commission

February 9, 2009

Meeting called to order by Paul Savchick. Present were Paul Savchick, Rick Young, Dick Brisbois, Judy Fowler, Marnie Cobbs and Dick Fortin.

Minutes of the January 12, 2009 meeting were unanimously approved. There was an amendment to the 11/10/08 minutes. Item # 4 should have included: "Rick Young asked that the Executive Session minutes be sealed."

TREASURER’S REPORT Dick Brisbois reported:

Eaton Conservation Fund $ 5,797.34

Forest Management Fund 18,436.09

$24,233.43

It was unanimously voted to pay the bill received from NH Association of Coserva- tion Commissions for $175.

FOREST MANAGEMENT No cutting has yet been done behind the Tripp Farm site although the Garland Co. has left a bulldozer there for plowing in preparation for cutting.

EATON MASTER PLAN Each ECC member reported on his or her research for inclusion in the Master Plan and discussion ensued.

BURRI LAND Kevin Flynn, president of Eaton Village Preservation (EVPS), asked to speak and respond to questions about the land across from the Eaton Village Store. EVPS is supporting the Town warrant article to buy the Burri property as an effort to preserve a critical parcel of land and provide a septic for the Eaton Village Store. There was discussion and EVPS will be sending and explanatory letter to all Eaton residents and landowners.

MEMBERSHIP The ECC could use some new members and possibilities were discussed.

OTHER BUSINESS: FOSS MT. LAND PARCEL Eddie McKenzie met with selectmen re: her property on Foss Mt. It was unanimously voted to invite her to the next ECC meeting.

Next meeting will be March 9, 2009 at 7:00 PM.
